Miller Anderson is a highly respected musician who came to major prominence as vocalist and guitarist with Keef Hartley Band upon their formation in 1968. Signing to Decca's Deram label, the band recorded a series of albums which embraced, jazz, blues and rock influences and enjoyed success as one of the great British bands of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Following the release of the album 'Overdog' in the Spring of 1971, Miller embarked on recording his first solo album, 'Bright City'. The album would see Anderson embrace folk influences alongside the more familiar styles associated with his work as part of the Hartley band. The result was a fine and inspiring record.

Last year BABYMETAL were “sealed” from the world after a successful 10-year journey. Earlier this year, THE OTHER ONE restoration project began to recover the BABYMETAL we never knew existed within a virtual world called the METALVERSE. Legendary Tacoma, Washington mathcore/hardcore/metal band Botch’s debut full-length American Nervoso was originally recorded in 1998, eventually becoming one of the most ground-breaking records during a pivotal shift in heavy music. Now, the band’s debut album is set to be re-issued on Sargent House 25 years after its original release. The album features white-hot guitar action, scathing vocals, sweet bass moves, and torrential drums, smashing existing precepts of hardcore and redefining both the word and the music for a generation of kids and grizzled vets alike. Bassist Brian Cook, guitarist David Knudson, drummer Tim Latona, and vocalist Dave Verellen formed Botch in 1993, eventually becoming one of the most significant bands of their time before playing their final show on June 15, 2002. The members would go on to play in These Arms Are Snakes, Minus the Bear, and Russian Circles, among others, with acclaim for the band coming mostly post-breakup. Over 20 years since they played their final show, Botch are reuniting for select dates in the Pacific Northwest in February 2023

"During the pandemic, we started a Patreon page. Through the Patreon page, ten people purchased a song we would write for them after having a zoom chat with the band. The stories we heard in those conversations created foundations for the lyrics that evolved into ten different songs. A year or so later we decided to take them into the studio to create a new album. During the studio sessions, we realized we wanted a song to summarize the process and tell the story of the project. One afternoon during the session we came up with the title “10 Stories High” and matched it up with a melody that Pete and Bryan had recorded earlier on their phones. We really liked how the title added imagery of ten people in a ten-story building living out their own external and internal experiences. It was a perfect summary to the project. After a few hours of tinkering with the music and words we had our title track for the record."

The feeling of spontaneity and closeness of spirit engulfs all of the cuts here. Olson's strident and powerful vocals mesh beautifully with Clark's slightly world-weary, soulful performances. As for the material, both songwriters obviously put their best foot forward here. Olson's The Drifter and Are We Still Making Love are excellent country-folk outings. Clark contributes one of his finest later compositions, Gypsy Rider, a multi-leveled song that can easily be viewed as autobiographical. Chemistry is the operative word here. The only sad thing is that So Rebellious a Lover was to be the only studio effort by the duo before Clark passed away in 1991. This record is important not only for what it is, but for what it could have become.

Just nine months after his 3x Grammy-nominated record Growin’ Up was released, reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year Luke Combs is back with a new companion album, Gettin’ Old, releasing March 24 via River House Artists/Columbia Nashville. In less than six months she had topped the US Hot 100 with the renamed 'Morning Train (Nine To Five)' and become an international star. Her 1981 debut album 'Take My Time' (known simply as 'Sheena Easton' in the US) became a Gold and Platinum certified hit around the world, spinning off further hits including 'One Man Woman' and 'When He Shines'. This is the first in a series of remastered vinyl releases of her 1980s albums, and part of Cherry Red's on-going reissue campaign of the star's EMI catalogue in association with RT Industries.

Dear Reader, About a year or two ago, Naomi Yang (of Galaxie 500) reached out to me after she rediscovered a video that we had made together in 2011, during the making of Tramp, just before the album’s release. It was for the song Serpents. The timing was uncanny, approaching the anniversary of Tramp. Thinking about my time in New York while in the bubble of Los Angeles and my home. Thinking about how restless I was, and now settled down and stable. Thinking about how Aaron Dessner took a chance on me after I messaged him with a fury of demos. He could see through the hiss and crappy vocals on my GarageBand demos, and that I had something to say. He gave me the confidence to be loud and to scream my rage and feel founded and justified in my own pain. He gave me more tools to find catharsis in my work. I have carried that with me ever since. 

Being on the west coast the last two years, I look back on my community in New York and am forever grateful. I had so many friends and peers step up and help me unfold these demos. The album that it became. A song about not believing how good I had it, like the other shoe was about to drop. I hope everyone that helped make this record and supported it, feel the love and admiration that I continue to hold for all of you. I hope that in sharing this record again, with a new video and this forgotten track, that new listeners are brought into this album and find meaning and relevance in it today. All of the musicians on this album helped me come to life and perform in ways I never had before.

Fall Out Boy's new album, “So Much (For) Stardust”

Andrew Gabbard has announced the release of his sophomore effort as a solo artist, Cedar City Sweetheart. The songs evoke a familiar feel for fans of his debut album, but new instrumentation and country-leaning lyrics give us a glimpse of another side of Andrew. "I love when a rock band makes a country album, " he explained, pointing to The Byrds as a major source of inspiration. Andrew played every instrument on his solo debut, Homemade. This time around, he called on some local musicians to add color. "Originally, I didn't have access to much recording equipment. I tracked my parts with an iPhone. My friends recorded their parts professionally, so I was able to piece it together and take another stab at recording the core of each song." The final product is a better sounding, polished group of songs that fit together to make a country album.The songs were written over the course of several years, but they're all very fresh in Andrew's mind. "I can remember a specific moment from writing each one of these tunes. They're simple songs that came naturally to me." Even though Andrew has written and contributed on countless albums over the years, this one truly feels like his second. The album is set to release March 24, 2023 on Colemine/Karma Chief Records.

Nonesuch Records releases Cécile McLorin Salvant’sMélusine on CD March 24, 2023 and LP on May 19, 2023. Mélusine features a mix of five originals and interpretations of nine songs, dating as far back as the twelfth century, mostly sung in French along with Occitan, English, and Haitian Kreyol.

The new album’s songs tell the story of the European folkloric legend of Mélusine, a woman who turns into a half-snake each Saturday as a result of a childhood curse by her mother. Mélusine later agrees to marry Raymondin on the condition that he never see her on Saturdays. He agrees but is ultimately convinced by his brother to break his promise, piercing his wife’s door with his sword and finding her naked in the bath, half snake, half woman. When she catches him spying on her, she turns into a dragon and flies out the window, only to reappear every time one of her descendants is on their deathbed.

Salvant, whose parents are French and Haitian, saysMélusine is also “partly about that feeling of being a hybrid, a mixture of different cultures, which I’ve experienced not only as the American-born child of two first generation immigrants, but as someone raised in a family that is racially mixed, from several different countries, with different languages spoken in the home.”

Acclaimed by George Clinton as "the most phenomenal musician on the planet," Dayton, Ohio-bred multi-instrumentalist Walter "Junie" Morrison was the visionary musical director of Parliament-Funkadelic throughout a hot streak of gold and platinum albums during the late 70s. Junie co-fronted and powered funk classics like "One Nation Under a Groove" and "(Not Just) Knee Deep" with his madcap synthesizer manipulation. Earlier in the decade, he provided a similar boost to the Ohio Players. One of the most iconic and influential albums ever, Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side Of The Moon celebrates its 50th Anniversary.

The album was partly developed during live performances, and the band premiered an early version of the suite at London’s Rainbow Theatre several months before recording began. ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ is the eighth studio album by Pink Floyd, originally released in March 1973.  The new material was recorded in 1972 and 1973 at EMI Studios (now Abbey Road Studios) in London. The iconic sleeve, which depicts a prism spectrum, was designed by Storm Thorgerson of Hipgnosis and drawn by George Hardie. ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ has sold over 50 million copies worldwide.

The new deluxe box set includes CD and gatefold vinyl of the newly remastered studio album and Blu-Ray + DVD audio featuring the original 5.1 mix and remastered stereo versions.  The set also includes additional new Blu-ray disc of Atmos mix plus CD and LP of ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon - Live At Wembley Empire Pool, London, 1974’.

Pretty Boy Floyd were one of the last true glam bands to receive any kind of notoriety in the late 80's. These guys really had some terrific songs, and dropped a really strong debut album as well. The titled track "Leather Boyz With Electric Toyz" features roaring guitars, smashing drums, thundering bass, and Steve Summer's signature singing style give this song amazing energy, and intensity that still can't be matched. Songs like "Rock N' Roll," "48 Hours," "Toast Of The Town" (Motley Crue cover version) and "Rock N' Roll Outlaws" are all favorites. While Pretty Boy Floyd's debut was far from groundbreaking, it still stands as a great rock and roll record.

The album's second single, "Stay" became the group's best-selling single, topping the UK Singles Chart for eight consecutive weeks. It also peaked at number four on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Production for the album took place from 2008 to 2009, which was contributed by Songz's longtime collaborator and his mentor Troy Taylor, along with Bryan-Michael Cox, StarGate and Los da Mystro, among others.
