Thirty years in the making, the Backstreet Boys are back with their first ever holiday album “A Very Backstreet Christmas”! Features classics like “I’ll Be Home For Christmas”, “Last Christmas”, “Silent Night” and new future holiday mainstays like “Christmas In New York,” “Together,” and “Happy Days.”
After four years of late night Ritz cracker and balsam-scented-candle-fueled recording sessions, the Beta Radio Christmas quadrilogy is complete! The Songs the Season Brings, Vols. 1-4, is a collection of classic and original Christmas songs to help you celebrate the holiday season. This album is a compilation of four holiday EPs, each recorded in the fall across a four year span. CD Digi-Pak.
Produced by composer and multi-Grammy and Academy Award nominee Stephan Moccio and set to stunning new arrangements, A Family Christmas is beautiful, intimate, and warm. The Bocelli family sings to you from the sanctuary of their own sitting room, by their fire, relaxing as they momentarily switch off from the rest of the world. It is the sound of a family taking a precious moment to be with each other and celebrate what is truly important. The beautiful soundtrack of their family Christmas.
Cheap Trick wants you to want them — for Christmas. The ’70s supergroup has just completed work on a holiday album, which will mark the band’s third release in just two years. News of the upcoming holiday album comes just one month after Cheap Trick released the album We’re All Alright. Last year, the band dropped the album Bang, Zoom, Crazy… Hello.
In an interview with Orange Amps, longtime Cheap Trick bassist Tom Petersson revealed that the band finished recording a holiday album “about two months ago.” Petersson revealed the Christmas record will be released around Halloween and said it came out “great.” “We did one standard, and then all sorts of different songs on there, it’s really cool,” he said. “We’ve got a few originals, and we covered songs from artists that we really like which have done Christmas songs.”
Because the album is all Christmas songs, Petersson said there was just one issue the band had in the recording studio. He joked, “The only confusing thing about recording this record, is that every song had the word Christmas in it, so we could never keep it straight during recording, trying to figure out which song was which; ‘Ok guys so let’s do the Christmas….. the sleigh song next.'”
After four decades together, Cheap Trick shows no signs of slowing down. Petersson said it’s hard for him to explain the band’s natural creative drive, but he added that the bandmates still love recording and writing together. Tom also said the group is still striving to make “that perfect record,” which could be what keeps them going. The band has said they hope to continue to release one new album each year. In 2016, Cheap Trick was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The Legendary “Rock Band With Horns” Gets Into The Spirit Of The Holiday Season With An Album That Mixes Original Christmas Songs And Yuletide Favorites
Produced by founding member Lee Loughnane, CHICAGO CHRISTMAS is the 37th album of the band’s career and its fourth holiday collection. Whereas its previous releases focused more on traditional Christmas songs, the new record spotlights holiday music the band wrote especially for the album, including “All Over The World,” “(Because) It’s Christmastime,” and “I’m Your Santa Claus.” The album also features R&B and ballad versions of “Merry Christmas, I Love You,” a song that Loughnane wrote with John Durrill of The Ventures, the best-selling instrumental band of all time.
Along with the new songs, the album also features the band’s interpretations of two holiday standards: “Here We Come A Caroling” and “Sleigh Ride.” It’s the second time Chicago has recorded “Sleigh Ride.” A different version appears on Chicago XXXIII: O Christmas Thee (2011). The album’s other non-original track is a soulful Chicago interpretation of the Hal David and Burt Bacharach classic, “What The World Needs Now Is Love,” which founding member Robert Lamm thought had a timely message for the holidays.
Chicago Christmas features original compositions by many of the band members, along with unmistakable horn arrangements by founding member James Pankow. The album was recorded and mixed by Tim Jessup.
Eric Clapton’s first ever full-length studio holiday album, Happy Xmas, is on Clapton’s Bushbranch Records/Surfdog Records. Happy Xmas is Clapton’s 24th studio album and his first since 2016’s “I Still Do.” It mixes instantly recognizable holiday classics with lesser-known unique titles along with an original new song “For Love On Christmas Day.” The album also features cover art illustration by Clapton himself.
When Christmas Comes Around…, the ninth studio album from GRAMMY-winning global superstar Kelly Clarkson, features a mix of new original songs and Christmas classics, alongside show-stopping collaborations with ArianaGrande (“Santa, Can’t You Hear Me”), Chris Stapleton (“Glow”) & Brett Eldredge (2020’s hit single “Under The Mistletoe”). The 15-track collection explores a wide range of holiday emotions and experiences anchored by Clarkson’s incomparable vocal prowess, marking her latest album since 2017’s Meaning of Life and her second holiday offering following 2013’s Wrapped In Red.
