American songstress St. Vincent returned to her solo work with a self-titled album following her hugely successful 2012 collaboration with David Byrne. After arranging and demoing tracks in Austin, Texas, she headed to Dallas with producer John Congleton (the Walkmen, Modest Mouse, Amanda Palmer) to record the final tracks. The album brings together a mixture of acoustic and electronic elements, with drummers Homer Steinweiss from Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings and Midlake's McKenzie Smith contributing rhythms.
