More Info:

Willie Egan was for many years an unfairly obscure boogie pianist and vocalist who made a brace of fine R&B records throughout the mid to late 1950s. He became something of an international star thanks in the main to Ace Record's Ted Carrol who also owned Rock On Records, an important retail outlet in London's Camden Town. Some of Egan's records were selling well to the rock and roll collectors, especially, "Wow, Wow" and "Rock & Roll Fever" and the fabulous jump blues "Wear Your Black Dress". A must for fans of boogie woogie pianists. Willie Egan is influenced in the main by Amos Milburn, Hadda Brooks, Camille Howard (pianist with Roy Milton), Nellie Lutcher and most importantly Little Willie Littlefield. Fully detailed liner notes.
