The documentary covers the Apollo Space Program with raw media, eschewing narration for footage and audio of the program. This includes samples of never-before-audio pulled from over 800 hours of recordings and Apollo black box recordings, turning the documentary into an Apollo-era time machine. The score to Apollo: Missions to the Moon was composed by James Everingham and produced by Hans Zimmer (Gladiator, Inception) and Russell Emanuel.
